Pharmaceuticals and the Brain
At kSero, we want to work hand in hand with the family physician and schools, when appropriate, to achieve the best results for our clients. We critically review the latest brain research to improve our clients’ brain functioning. We want to put pharmaceuticals lower on the decision tree, using healthy alternatives for the entire family. As evidence continues to mount about inherent risks compared to effectiveness, kSero plays a vital role in determining how well a medication is working for a particular client. We do this through measuring brain and mental functions that are sensitive to medications.
Stimulant medications have been shown to carry long–term risks that include:
- Dependency and abuse of medications and illegal drugs
- Reduced adult height
- Depression
- Insomnia
Training the brain, combined with lifestyle changes known to help the brain perform better, can be highly effective, long-lasting, and healthy. kSero uses training systems that have excellent performance records, as well as our own proprietary training. We tailor each program according to an individual’s unique profile. We monitor lifestyle changes, such as reducing electronic stimulation, in order to achieve the best outcomes as rapidly as possible.
